"The Tomato Pole Amish Paste, `Lycopersicon lycopersisum,' produces a fruit with few seeds and solid flesh that is somewhat large for a paste tomato. This is an old, wonderfully flavored paste tomato from years past. Amish Paste is the tomato to use for making a tomato sauce or canning tomatoes. Regular tomatoes just will not do the job right. This variety is an intermediate tomato, which means that the plant will continue to produce until the first frost. The plants should always be pruned in order to maintain a single stem."
