"The Hot Pepper Anaheim, `Capsicum annuum,' is a very popular chili pepper that is mildly hot. The long, tapered, medium thick peppers are pungent. Among the most commonly used chilies in the United States, Anaheim peppers have a bite ranging from mild to moderately hot. The peppers are long, slender and lobed, and also come in varieties known as New Mexican, long red, long green or California. They should be planted in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers will use quite a bit of water, but will prefer to be watered deeply and not very often."
