Apeldoorn Elite Darwin Hybrid Tulip

Tulipa darwin hybrid 'Apeldoorn's Elite'

"The Tulip 'Apeldoorn Elite', 'Tulipa darwin hybrid', is a fall planted bulb. This richly colored variety is always one of the show stoppers at flower exhibitions. The petals are bright red, feathered and streaked with golden yellow. The huge perfectly shaped blooms are borne on strong, tall stems. It is excellent for colorful accents in the garden and tasteful bouquets. If possible, plant in a somewhat sheltered location. These tulips are excellent for warmer climatic zones. Tulips are excellent for mass planting, cut flowers, and borders."

Spectrum Ann Begonia

Spectrum Ann Begonia

Begonia Spectrum Ann plants, `Begonia x hybrida,' are wonderfully flowering plants that grow well in the garden as well as patio containers.  This variety is a cross between the winter flowering and tuberous summer flowering varieties of Begonia.  Spectrum Ann Begonias are distinguished by their large, flowers that are double and a light salmon pink in color.  More that a half day of sunlight will cause the plants to dry out, as too much shade will cause the plants to become soft and less showy in bloom.

Silver Brocade

Silver Brocade

The Artemisia Silver Brocade, `Artemisia stelleriana,' is a compact, silver-white perennial plant with a height of fifteen inches and a spread of over two feet.  This wooly plant produces yellow flowers in early summer that are not very showy.  This plant prefers sandy soil but does need a well drained location with full sunlight and a small amount of afternoon shade.  This plant can be paired with Echinacea Purple Coneflower or Rudbeckia Black Eyed Susan to add interest to any garden or accent fresh or dried flower arrangements.

Berry Nice Holly

Berry Nice Holly

The Holly Berry Nice, `Ilex v. Nice,' will provide copious amounts of bright red berries that will be enjoyed in both autumn and winter.  This is a relatively new variety that features superior fruit set and berry retention, as well as a greatly improved resistance to mildew.  The berries of this Proven Winners selection can be included in floral arrangements and other winter decorations.  Planting or massing these colorful plants will greatly help to brighten up any winter landscape.
