"The Tomato Pole Aunt Ruby's German Green, `Lycopersicon lycopersicum,' is believed by many to be the best tasting green tomato. This Heirloom variety, while not the pretties to look at, features a spicy and sweet flavor that is delicious. The tomatoes grown are large, beefsteak types that are twelve to sixteen ounces each. They require at least one inch of water weekly, and should be soaked to a depth of six to ten inches when watering. This variety requires at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. These plants should be pruned in order to keep a single stem."
