"The Hosta Aureomarginata, `Hosta fortunei,' has heart shaped leaves deep green in color that feature a yellow band down the middle. This plant produces purple flowers, which bloom from July into August. Hostas are not grown only for their flowers. Most people grow Hostas to provide color and life in shady areas of the garden that other plants will not necessarily thrive in. This plant grows to a height of eighteen inches and has a spread of three to four feet. A great choice for any beginner gardener, this perennial requires little care and can be grown in a variety of situations, including pots and patios."
