Beefmaster Tomato

Lycopersicon lycopersicum

"The Tomato Beefmaster, `Lycopersicon lycopersicum,' is one of the largest of the beefsteak tomato plants. The very meaty fruits are large enough to overlap burgers and sandwiches. The nearly seedless fruits have the fine flavor of beefsteak. The tomatoes are perfect for slicing and are very tolerant of cracking and peeling. Some of the fruits may weigh as much as two pounds. In warmer regions, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for a harvest in the winter. When watering, the soil should be soaked to a depth of six to ten inches. The plants require at least six hours of direct sunlight every day."
