"The Tomato Better Boy, `Lycopersicon lycopersicum,' is a very popular all around variety. This plant features very high yields of smooth textured fruits having an excellent flavor. Better Boy has been a household name among home vegetable gardeners for many years. The fruits can weight between one half and one pound each. The soil should be well drained and high in organic matter. In warmer regions, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for a harvest in the winter. When watering, the soil should be soaked to a depth of six to ten inches. The plants require at least six hours of direct sunlight every day."
