Big Beef Tomato

Lycopersicon lycopersicum

"The Tomato Big Beef, `Lycopersicon lycopersicum,' is a beefmaster variety that produces twice the normal yield. The globe shaped fruits are smooth, and weigh up to one pound each. Adapting easily to different environments, these plants will grow well in nearly every climate. The soil should be well drained and high in organic matter. In warmer regions, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for a harvest in the winter. When watering, the soil should be soaked to a depth of six to ten inches. The plants require at least six hours of direct sunlight every day."
