Big Bluestem Grass
Andropogon gerardii "The Grass Big Bluestem, `Andropogon gerardii,' is a prairie grass native to North America. This grass is sometimes referred to as Turkey Feet, due to the shape of the seed heads. The name Big Bluestem comes from the fact that this grass can become very big, possibly reaching four to seven feet in height. The twelve inch long blades are hairy and « inch wide. The leaves will get a slight red tinge as they age, and become bronze in the autumn. This is a very attractive grass that works well for either accent or mass plantings." Begonia Spectrum Ann plants, `Begonia x hybrida,' are wonderfully flowering plants that grow well in the garden as well as patio containers. This variety is a cross between the winter flowering and tuberous summer flowering varieties of Begonia. Spectrum Ann Begonias are distinguished by their large, flowers that are double and a light salmon pink in color. More that a half day of sunlight will cause the plants to dry out, as too much shade will cause the plants to become soft and less showy in bloom.

The Red Globe peach features one of the finest flavors even developed. This very large, round fruit has yellow flesh that is blushed with red, and touts an excellent flavor. These are some of the most highly desirable commercial peaches, and they have exceptional quality. The large fruits ripen in June, and the trees are vigorous and highly productive. The fruits, with their highly blushed red atop a golden background, are some of the most attractive peaches of their season. The fruits have good quality and are rather firm.

The Mars Grape (Blue-Purple), `Vitas labrusca Mars,' produces seedless, medium sized grapes that are perfect to serve fresh on the table, as well as in making jams and jellies. It is very similar in character to the Concord grape. This is the most disease resistant variety of grape that we carry, and the fruits will ripen in mid to late August. Grape vines can also be grown as ornamentals or screens in the landscape.
