Black-Eyed Susan

Rudbeckia hirta
"The Black Eyed Susan, `Rudbeckia hirta,' produces beautiful, two to four inch daisy-like flowers adorned with orange-yellow petals. The flowers have a long blooming period, usually over sixty days. This is the most drought tolerant of all varieties of Rudbeckia. Although generally grown as an annual, Black Eyed Susan is technically a short-lived perennial and will sometimes return for a second or third year. This plant provides good fall color, and will look its best when many other flowers are beginning to fade."
