"The Bachelor Button Black Magic, `Centaurea cyanus,' produces deep maroon flower that often appears to be black in color. This wonderful flower will combine perfectly with Bachelor Blue Boy or tall Cosmos. Also known as Cornflower, the Bachelor Button Black Magic has many desirable traits such as drought tolerance. The seeds that fall from the plants will naturalize themselves. For warmer climates, the seeds should be planted in summer to early fall for a bloom in the winter. Deadheading of spent flowers can extend the blooming season as well as increase the size of the flowers."
