"The Bachelor Button Blue Boy, `Centaurea cyanus,' produces sky blue blooms that can be used as either cut or dried flowers. Also known as Cornflower, the Bachelor Button Black Magic has many desirable traits such as drought tolerance. The seeds that fall from the plants will naturalize themselves. This allows for the plants to return the following year for another display of blue flowers. For warmer climates, the seeds should be planted in summer to early fall for a bloom in the winter. Deadheading of spent flowers can extend the blooming season as well as increase the size of the flowers."
