"The Bradford Flowering Pear, `Pyrus calleryana,' is a vigorous and rapid grower, and will achieve a twelve to fifteen foot increase in height over only eight to ten years. This is an extremely popular, medium size shade tree. They also produce outstanding clusters of white flowers in the spring, and a fantastic yellow to red to purple autumn foliage color. One of the most fireblight resistant cultivars, the Bradford Flowering Pear is shallow rooted and will tolerate most types of soil."
