Burgundy Wine Knautia

Knautia macedonica

"The Knautia Burgundy Wine, `Knautia macedonica,' produces several brilliant burgundy to crimson red flowers on long stems. The medium tall plants can be grown in the front or middle of a bed, and entice the viewer without completely obscuring plants behind it. This `see through' plant will add a sense of drama and mystery to any garden. The seeds should be planted in the early spring, about two to four weeks before the last average frost date. The flowers are pincushion-shaped and will attract butterflies. Use this plant in cottage gardens, borders and meadows."
