"The Bursting Heart Burning Bush, `Euonymus americana,' is a very unique shrub that grows to from four to six feet in height. During the spring and summer months, this bush will sit back and let other plants take the spotlight. In the early fall, however, its curious fruit will take center stage. The bumpy, raspberry-red pods will hang on the ends of stems and split open to reveal small and smooth red seeds. Its lower limbs may be removed to two feet or so off the ground to allow ground covers to grow beneath it."
