The leaves have an unusual speckling, and the tender, mild, and thick but soft leaves will add visual interest as well as fantastic flavor to any salad. This variety is rarely bitter and will mature quickly. They will grow in light shade. Lettuce plants grow well near cabbage, carrots, beets, garlic, onion and chives."
