"The Zinnia California Giants, `Zinnia elegans,' produces large, four to six inch flowers in a wide range of colors, including white, pink, salmon, red, rose, orange, lavender, yellow and purple. The flowers look spectacular in bouquets as well as in the garden. These are the best flowers for zones with long, hot summers. The state flower of Indiana, this Zinnia should be planted in the late spring, about two weeks after the last average frost date. The flowers are great cut and dried, and work wonderfully in mass plantings."
