"The California Poppy Mixed Colors, `Eschscholzia californica,' is a perennial flower that is most often grown as an annual. The flowers are produces in a stunning mix of white, yellow, orange, scarlet red and purple. The foliage of this plant will often overwinter in zones seven through eleven. The two to three inch flowers have four delicate petals each. Commonly used as a cut flower or in the prevention of soil erosion, the seed of a Mixed Colors Poppy should be planted in the fall of warmer climates for impressive spring color."
