"The Canary Bird Zinnia, `Zinnia elegans,' produces large, four to five inch flowers in a brilliant shade of yellow. The flowers look spectacular in bouquets as well as in the garden. These easy to grow plants reach three feet in height, and are the best selection for flowers grown in regions with long, hot summers. The seeds should be planted in the late spring, about two weeks after the last average frost date. The flowers are great cut and dried, and work wonderfully in mass plantings."
