"The Phlox Candy Stripe, `Phlox subulata,' is an ideal ground cover with masses of tiny white flowers and a thick mat of semi-evergreen foliage. The flowers feature pink mid-stripes. They bloom from April to May and have a plant height of six inches with a spread of up to two feet. This is a definite addition to any perennial garden. Candy Stripe must be planted in full sunlight in a well-drained soil. Useful in rock gardens, as a spread over curbs and short retaining walls, or in difficult edges of dry streambeds."
