"The Columbine Cardinal, `Aquilegia vulgaris,' is an easy to grow spring blooming perennial. It is a Columbine plant in the Songbird series. Its green foliage will add texture and color during the fall months. The flower petals are three inches wide and red white bi-colored. This profuse self-seeder should be planted sixteen inches apart to prevent crowding. This plant grows best in rock gardens or containers, but can be used for beds and borders.
