"The Carpathian Black Walnut Tree, `Juglans nigra,' is a deciduous tree that bears tiny-shelled nuts that are easy to open. It is commonly planted as a nut bearing landscape tree. It exhibits a rounded crown that is spreading and open. This variety comes from parent trees in central Michigan, where they crop abundantly despite winter temps of -34 degrees F. The Carpathian Black Walnut is also known as the Persian Walnut, English Walnut and Madeira Nut."
