Chater's Red Hollyhock

Alcea rosea 'Chater's Red'
"The Chater's Red Hollyhock, `Alcea rosea,' produces large ruffled ball-shaped flowers. The flowers are deep red in color and occasionally have pink edges. The plants have a very tall stature from four to six feet and are typically biennials. The plants, although short-lived, will easily reseed themselves. The blooms will flower during the summer months. This plant is wonderful in the back of a border or along a wall or fence. They should be planted in full sunlight in a well draining soil."
