"The Chinese Flame tree, `Koelreuteria bipinnata,' is a medium to rapid growing tree that produces medium green, oval leaves. Its beautiful yellow flowers, blooming in July and August, are two inches long, and appear in clusters that can be as long as fourteen inches. These beautiful flowers can attract birds. This deciduous tree has a round canopy. Its long seedpods are orange, red or salmon colored and have a papery texture. The Chinese Flame tree is drought tolerant and will be able to tolerate many other conditions, such as poor drainage, poor soil, smog and temperature extremes."
