"The Burning Bush Compacta, `Euonymus alatus Compacta,' is a deciduous bush that withstands either acidic or alkaline soils and a wide range of temperatures. It is most commonly planted for its fall color, which is an outstanding red. Its deep, dark red leaves almost glow with color. It can grow in shade, but its fall color will be diminished and the foliage will be less dense. The fruits are orange and red in color and can be ornamental if produced in quantity. This plant will transplant easily and may be sheared. Once established, this Burning Bush will become somewhat tolerant of short periods of drought."
