Concord (Purple) Grape

Vitis labrusca 'Concord'
"The Concord Grape (Blue-Purple), `Vitas labrusca Catawba,' is a very tough and dependable plant. This spring planted herbaceous root produces fruits that are nickel sized and have very thick skins. The sweet, strong grape flavor of a Concord grape is most famous for being the traditional selection for grape juice. It is also very good for making jams and jellies. Heavy pruning in February or March is recommended because fruit is only produced on new growth."
