"The Spirea Daphne, `Spiraea japonica,' is a very refined and tidy plant that makes a fantastic groundcover. It exhibits its small leaves on short, wiry branches. Each branch is tipped with a cluster of light pink flowers. The foliage of this shrub grows very dense and mat-like, with a blue-green color. This variety will perform best in full sunlight. Spireas are distinguished by the size, bloom color and season of bloom. They all have small leaves that grow on fine, twiggy branches. The shrubs also become very drought tolerant once they are established."
