Hibiscus syriacus 'Diana'
"The Diana Rose of Sharon, `Hibiscus syriacus,' may be trained as a single trunk tree or espalier, or allowed to grow naturally as an upright, multi-stemmed shrub. This deciduous plant is vigorous and erect, growing to a height of eight to twelve feet. Its leaves are diamond shaped, dark green, somewhat palmate and toothed. This variety bears white flowers with yellow stems. The flowers are present from late summer until mid fall. Larger flower heads may be obtained by pruning back hard to two or three buds in the early spring. This Rose of Sharon is very tolerant of summer heat and humidity."
