Eastern Red Oak

Quercus maxima

"The Eastern Red Oak Tree, `Quercus maxima,' is very similar to the Northern Red Oak tree, so similar that they are often called the same name. This hardwood tree can be recognized by its pointy, lobed leaves with prickly tips. In autumn, its leaves with turn to a vibrant red, adding bursts of color to any landscape. This tree is widely adaptable to moisture and soil types, and grows very rapidly for an Oak tree."
