"The Golden Raintree, `Koelreuteria paniculata,' is one of the very few yellow flowering trees. This is an excellent selection for unrivaled late yellow flowers. It is deciduous, and features a rounded outline with spreading, ascending branches. Also known as the Chinese Flame tree, its papery seedpods look like tiny Chinese lanterns. Their open, reddish, copper-colored foliage looks very nice in the spring. Golden Raintrees are very tolerant of air pollution, and are therefore excellent selections for small shade trees or patio trees."
