Cotinus coggygria

"The Green Smoketree, `Cotinus coggygria,' is a deciduous shrub or small tree. Its loose, spreading branches are laden with bluish green, sometimes yellowy leaves. The trees will grow as wide as they are tall. They exhibit a red-purple fall color. This is a deciduous tree with showy, pubescent pedicels and peduncles of flowers that will provide a `smoky' appearance. They prefer the sunlight, and are adaptable to a wide range of soils and pH ranges, in addition to being drought tolerant. This is a wonderful accent or ornamental tree."
