The Amaryllis 'Red Lion', 'Hippeastrum', produces large dark red blooms. Amaryllis are great for cut flowers and they also can be grown indoors. This plant is resistant to deer. Of all flowering bulbs, amaryllis are the easiest to bring to bloom. This can be accomplished indoors or out, and over an extended period of time. The planting period extends from October to April and the flowering period lasts for 6 to 7 weeks. Amaryllis can be grown outdoors in frost free areas. In cold regions, pull up the bulbs before winter, and store them until spring.
The Fuji Apple is a wonderful all around fruit. The apples are super sweet, super juicy and super crisp. They are quite possibly the best snacking apple available. The fruits are aromatic, sweet and crisp with a very firm texture. The Fuji apple's appearance varies from yellowish green with red highlights to mostly red in color. The spicy crisp sweetness gives it an exceptional eating quality. Perfect for fresh salads, the Fuji is becoming an apple with a very large consumer base.
The Begonia Pendula Red, `Begonia Pendula Red,' displays multitudes of beautiful red flowers. This spring planted tuber has much smaller flowers than upright begonias, and also requires more water. Sometimes called basket begonias, Pendula makes up in numbers what the flowers lack in size. Light fertilization applied weekly will assist in maintaining healthy, vibrant blooms. Daily watering should be applied in warm weather, as they should never be allowed to dry out.
