"The Spectabilis Forsythia, `Forsythia x intermedia,' is a long-lived plant that will grow very quickly. This showy border Forsythia will transplant easily and can tolerate a wide range of soil and light conditions, but will thrive the best in full sunlight. This variety is most often used to control erosion on steep slopes, because the tips of its branches root naturally to easily spread the plant. Other uses of this Forsythia include in a border, as a specimen plant or in a screen. They should be pruned in the spring after the flowering period to that the buds for the following year may develop in the autumn."
