"The Hosta Sum and Substance, `Hosta,' produces large rounded pointed leaves with heavy puckering. This hosta is resistant to slugs and grows vigorously. This hosta produces lavender flowers that bloom from July through August, although Hostas are generally planted for the foliage and not the flowers. This Hosta will grow to a height of three feet with a spread of up to sixty inches. They will provide bright color in any shady location. This is a low care perennial that is a great selection for any beginning gardener. Named Hosta of the Year in 2004, this plant produces its flowers on fifty inch stalks."
