"The Texas Bluebonnet, `Lupinus texensis,' produces impressive spikes of bold blue flowers in the spring months. The state wildflower of Texas, the Bluebonnet is perfect for naturalized wildflower locations. The half-inch flowers grow on spokes with a white terminal tip. The flowers will last for about four weeks during the spring. They are used for cut flowers and mass planting for wildflower areas. They can also be seen along roads and in fields in the southern United States."
