"The Zinnia Thumbellina, `Zinnia elegans,' produces one to two inch flowers in a wide array of colors including white, pink, salmon, rose, red, yellow, orange, lavender and purple. The flowers look spectacular in bouquets as well as in the garden. Zinnias are the best selections for areas with long, hot summers. The easy to grow plants will bloom from early summer into late fall, until the first frost. The seeds should be planted in the late spring, about two weeks after the last average frost date. The flowers are great cut and dried, and work wonderfully in mass plantings, as well as in pots and containers."
