Variegated Yucca

Yucca glauca
"The Variegated Yucca, `Yucca glauca variegated,' is much hardier than it appears, and will typically only fail in cold exposed inland sites. For these inland sites, the Variegated Yucca is much better grown as a container plant. Its stiff, evergreen rosettes can be commonly found in hot, dry Central and North American scrublands. They are very handsome architectural foliage plants. Their flower spikes can reach six or more feet in height, and will begin to appear when the plants are over five years old. This plant is perfect to be added to a sunny border."
