Virginia Creeper

Parthenocissus quinquefolia
"The Virginia Creeper, `Parthenocissus quinquefolia,' produces deciduous leaves that radiate outward from a leaf stem, much like spokes on a wheel. Each of the leaflets is from three to seven inches in length and an inch or two wide. The foliage turns a fiery red color in fall and makes for a very showy autumn plant. This is a fast growing, high climbing vine that attaches itself with tendrils that expand, disk-like at their tip. It can be used as a groundcover, as it will spread horizontally by attaching itself to the ground with adventitious roots when there is nothing to climb."
