"The Obedient Plant Vivid, `Physostegia virginiana,' produces deep pink, cup shaped flowers that bloom from June through September. The plants grow to three feet tall with a spread of up to two feet. Their foliage is waxy and green, and differentiates this plant from other white blooming perennials. This plant looks great in borders, mixed plantings or massed. It will also make some great cut flowers. Try growing this plant with darker colored plants for a wonderful contrast in any garden. Vivid requires full sunlight and a well drained soil, but can tolerate some afternoon shade."
