"The Winesap apple is a very old variety of apple. It has been one of the leading varieties grown in the United States for several years. The fruits are perfect for eating, juicing and baking. The crisp, yellowish flesh is juicy and tart, sometimes having red veins running through it. Its skin is a delightful deep red. Winesap apples have excellent keeping qualities and are somewhat large.
